Discovery NotesA soil sample was collected at my home on top of Kendall Hill (910 ft. elevation) in the Crystal Ridge Estates neighborhood of Crystal Lake, Ellington, Connecticut, on Monday, January 15, 2024, at 2:20 p.m. The soil was frozen and was collected approximately six centimeters into the ground underneath a coverage of leaves. The weather was partly cloudy and -1.7 degrees C.
Naming NotesThe phage name "Toothfairy" is named after the location I collected the sample from in my backyard, coined the "Fairy Path." After graduating from Providence College, I hope to study dental medicine, so "Toothfairy" was the perfect name.
