Discovery NotesThe soil sample was from the dirt in a potted petunia plant in Lincoln, Nebraska that was collected on September 29, 2015. The temperature was 72 degrees Fahrenheit. The sample was collected three inches below the ground line.
Naming NotesTartarus means "black abyss" in Greek. My original phage was hard to isolate because it was temperate, so I had to adopt this phage from Felicia. While I was attempting to isolate my temperate phage, the task seemed bottomless, like it would never end, hence the name abyss.
