Discovery NotesWYdent was isolated from the topsoil of a corn field that is under pivot irrigation. The environment can be described as green with grasses, weeds, and corn plants. The corn plants shaded the topsoil providing a darkened moist environment. The sample was collected on a sunny day with a temperature of about 95 degrees Fahrenheit.
Naming NotesThe name for this phage came from the Wyoming dental program. The program exists because Wyoming does not have a dental school and as such the program gives contracted seats at the two Nebraska dental schools. It is a great program and this is an opportunity to put Wyoming on the map in the sense of mycobacteriophages.

Plaque NotesWYdent had a plaque morphology that consisted of small, clear, round, and about 1mm in diameter. After three streaks, there were two morphologies consistent throughout indicating two morphologies being produced by a single phage. The second morphology was the same, but with a much smaller diameter of about 0.2mm.
