The phage was isolated from soil near a pond in a wetlands park in Las Vegas, Nevada. There were several plants and bushes at the location. Damp soil from a depth of 9.3 centimeters was collected, and ambient temperature was 32 degrees Celsius. DNA sequencing and gneome assemble were carried out at the Pittsburgh Bacteriophage Institute at the University of Pittsburgh using Illumina sequencing technology. Average coverage depth was 1158.
