Discovery NotesThe soil sample was collected from the soil around a tree on the lawn of the Cathedral of Learning parallel to Bigelow Boulevard at the coordinates 40º26'38"N 79º57'14"W. This location was mostly grassy with a few trees populating the lawn, and the soil was quite dry. At 5:35 the temperature was 88º F, with a humidity of 57%.A plastic spoon was used to scoop the soil into a plastic bag, The bag was then taken back to Brackenridge Hall and labeled before being stored in a drawer at room temperature. The bag was in transit for 10 minutes and was stored in a room temperature drawer for approximately 22.5 hours.
Naming NotesAlbatross is an easy enough word to say and I think it makes for a great phage name.
