Discovery NotesPhage was discovered at 3:45 pm September 11th, 2016, at the Western Kentucky Office of Sustainability in Bowling Green, KY. Discovery Conditions were partly cloudy, with temperature 26.1 degrees Celsius (79 degrees Fahrenheit). The soil sample had medium-to-high moisture levels, and was taken from the Sustainability Office's compost pile. The sample was taken at a depth of 3 inches.
Naming NotesThe astrophysicist John Archibald Wheeler coined the term "wormhole" to describe a hypothetical connection between two regions of space-time, that could potentially serve as a gateway between those two places. Like a wormhole, the study of phages may provide a gateway into new worlds of Scientific Study. The J is in reference to my initial.
