Discovery NotesWe found this particular phage in a flower bed next to a bush in the southwest corner of Hughes Hall at Gonzaga University. The soil was slightly wet and the outside temperature was 3.33 degrees Celsius. There were small amounts of snow on the day that we collected this soil sample.
Naming NotesAfter the second round of streaking our phage for isolation, we found one of the plates completely clear after just three days. This was an indication that our phage was extremely rampant. Taking this into account, we decided to name our phage "Bolt," because it had grown so quickly.
