Discovery NotesDirt Sample obtained on 9/01/2011 at 10:43 PM
Weather: partly cloudy, no rain; a cool front passed through, temp was 84°F
Location is near a lake, soil was moist and clay like. To obtain the sample I used a spoon to dig about 1/2 inch into the ground, I filled a 15 mL conical tube full with the sample. The sample was a medium-dark brown color. Where the sample was collected, there was some, but a small amount, of vegetation (grasses and weeds, like dandelions) present on the top of the area from where the sample was collected.
