Discovery NotesWe took our sample from the dirt around a storm drain that empties out into a stream on our campus in Spokane WA. At the time we took our sample there had been very little rainfall so all of the dirt was very dry.
Naming NotesThe name is from the combination of our initials which together formed, CLEP (Christian LaPlante and Emilie Pratt).

Plaque NotesOur phage forms lytic plaques that are generally of a medium size and a round shape. They form fairly close together however, if the concentration in the dilution is generally greater than 10^-5 it is hard to see individual plaques, because they have a tendency to clear sections of the bacteria, usually only on one side of a plate.
