Discovery NotesThe soil was taken from the woods in the Holmes Bend campground in Columbia, Kentucky. The Green River Lake was the nearest large water source. It is less than one mile away. The sample was taken around 11:00 am on September 3, 2012. It was taken from the soil approximately 1.5 inches from the top of the soil. Many leaves were degrading over the soil. It had recently rained approximately 1 inch at 5:00 am the same day. It had been raining for the previous three days, however, the soil was not moist.
Naming NotesThis phage has hooked tails with a brush at the end. CapnHook was chosen because of the hooked tails.
