Discovery NotesThe soil sample was collected from the parking lot of Chili's on Western Kentucky University's campus. Chili's marked a place of camaraderie, happiness and all around good time for the discoverer and her friend group.
Naming NotesThis phage's name is made up of two parts: Cardi and San. Cardi stands for cardiology which, at the time, was my primary career interest (cardiothoracic surgeon). San is the first three letters of the discoverer's sister's name which is Sania.
