Discovery NotesWeather on the day of soil collection was cool. Soil was located in an open area. It had rained very hard many days earlier, but the soil was still dry. Sample was transported for approximately 5 minutes after collection.
Naming NotesThe plaques that the phage formed at first were very inconspicuous, and I almost missed them- thus, the phage was discreet.

Plaque NotesPhage Discreet was found and isolated through the direct isolation technique. The plaques that Phage Discreet produces are of a relatively consistent circular shape, and are completely clear (suggesting a lytic growth cycle). Plaque sizes of Discreet are mostly 1mm in diameter, with a few smaller and larger plaques with diameters of 0.5mm and 1.5mm, respectively.
