Discovery NotesThis soil sample was collected on 9/12/2017 at 76 degrees fahrenheit from a potted plant that is in my front flower bed in my home in Argyle, Texas. This potted plant has several different flowers growing well in it that are thriving an look healthy. I made sure to get soil from under the top surface. The soil is dark brown and moist, not dried out at all. It has some roots from the plants in it and some white beads that come with the original potting soil when it was purchased.
Naming NotesI named my phage after my maternal grandmother whose name was Serena Holdridge. She died of breast cancer when my mom was still in high school, but I always felt a special connection to her because my middle name is Serena. She started the three generations of love for photography in my family, and I like to think that she is my guardian angel. This is why my phage name is ForSerena to honor her.
