Discovery NotesSoil located on the Loyola Marymount campus, directly behind the Bird Nest, near freshman housing. Soil was taken from a clear area between grass and succulent ground coverings scaling the side of the bluff. Sample was taken from about 1.5 inches below the surface, and was relatively dry. A few ants were present, as well as scattered thin roots from the grass.
