Discovery NotesThis phage was isolated after a period of fluctuating temperatures. The soil sample was collected during 12 degree F temperatures from a garden bed outside the Cathedral of Learning on the campus of the University of Pittsburgh. Soil was hard and frozen.
Naming NotesIt was inspired by a character from the TV show Lost. The character's name is John Locke.
