Discovery NotesIsolated from a soil sample procured from Noida in a state called Utter Pradesh (UP). The protocol followed for isolation of the Mycobacteriophages was as described in the manual "Phagehunting Teacher Workshop-2012". The work was carried out in Dr.Urmi Bajpai's laboratary at Department of Biomedical Science, Acharya Narendra Dev College, University of Delhi under ELITE fellowship undergraduate research program sponsored by the college to carry out the the PHAGE DISCOVERY Research Project (PDRP).
Naming NotesThe name of the phage is derived from the name of the program: PHAGE DISCOVERY Research project (PDRP) carried out by the students (B.Sc.Honours in Biomedical science) who discovered the Mycobacteriophage from the soil sample collected by them. 'vi'in PDRPvi is the number given to the isolated plaque among many other.
