Discovery NotesThe soil sample was taken from the base of the memorial tree located in Revelle College Plaza near the fountain. The sample was lightly watered and was not overwhelmingly dry or wet. It was dark brown with no apparent insects.

Plaque NotesPlaques from the first purification were apparent on about half the plate and were turbid. As a result of the second purification the plate was covered entirely in turbid plaques. After spot titer, plaques appeared in rings, in which there was a clearing in the middle of each spot followed by a ring of bacteria and another ring of clearing.
