Plaque NotesPhage Sciavo consistently showed two morphologies. One of the morphologies consisted of 3mm oval-shaped, foggy plaques indicating a temperate phage. The other morphology was about 1mm circular-clear plaques indicating a lytic phage. The possible cause of these two varying phages morphologies is a mutation in the genome that causes the lytic phage to sometimes appear temperate.
