Discovery NotesFound under a tree near the base of a tree where there was dampened soil outside of the Porter biosciences building in the University of Colorado, Boulder. Climate is arid. The soil was found September 8th 2021 around 10:20 in the morning.
Naming NotesSisyphus was a Greek king who was punished by Hades to eternally roll a Boulder up a hill every day only to have it rumble back down before it could reach the top. Much like Sisyphus this phage was stubborn with purification and quality control gels and we kept having to use titer plates at lower and lower dilutions.
