Discovery NotesI collected my soil sample from dry topsoil outside the EBS building on Western Kentucky University's campus. The area is grassy, receives little foot traffic, and is surrounded by trees and other foliage. At the time of collection, the soil was covered with leaves.

I believe that my phage is an A4 phage. I reached this conclusion after comparing pictures of my gel from gel electrophoresis with other gels in the database. My gel pattern best resembles those of other sequenced A4 phages. However, I cannot know for sure which cluster my phage belongs to without sequencing its DNA. There are no plans to sequence SkinnyMini's DNA at this point.
Naming NotesI named this phage SkinnyMini because its plaques were so small compared to those of my classmates' phages.
