Discovery NotesThe site that the sample was taken from was along the east wall of the Walker Science Building at the University of Southern Mississippi. It was a shady location covered by many trees. At the time, the soil was slightly moist, but it was a dry, sunny day. The depth of the soil was approximately 1 inch.
Naming NotesI named my phage “The Chosen One” because after searching on the electron microscope for several minutes, and becoming impatient, I found one phage all alone in the sample. I figured this must be the chosen phage. I eventually found a few others, but this was the one that I saw as “The Chosen One.”
