Sequencing Information
Sequencing Complete?Yes
Date Sequencing CompletedDec 9, 2016
Sequencing FacilityUniversity of North Texas
Shotgun Sequencing MethodIllumina Sequencing
Approximate Shotgun Coverage700
Sanger Finishing Reactions4
Genome length (bp)50129
Character of genome ends3' Sticky Overhang
Overhang Length11 bases
Overhang SequenceCGCCATGTGAT
End Determination NotesEnds were PCRed across to acquire the overhang sequence, which is high-quality. However, since this phage was sequenced using a Nextera transposon-mediated library prep protocol, the exact start and end of the genome are not apparent from the reads. We assumed that this phage would have the same length overhang as its nearest relatives, Amela and Verse, hence the 11 bp overhang claim.
GC Content66.1%
Sequencing NotesThere are a couple of interesting variations in this population. First, approximately 45% of the reads have a T instead of the published C at position 45004. Second, around half of the reads indicate a 1321 bp deletion from position 47143 to position 48462, inclusive.
