Discovery NotesIn attempt of finding a cure for for tuberculosis, the phage that infects M. smegmatis was isolated from soil samples in Durban Westville campus. This was discovered in a moist soil, where there were some drops of water from a leaking pipe.
Naming NotesZeesoli, can be dissected in two words, namely "Zee-", which stands from the initial of the discoverer, Zwelihle. In contrast, "-soli" is a latin word that means soil, where this phage was isolated from.

Plaque NotesThree kinds of plaques were observed in an agar plate. Some forming a completely clear zone, and others forming a halo. The third ones formed a completely turbid plaques in the plate. After day 1 of incubation, the individual plaques had 1 - 1,5 mm diameter.
