Discovery NotesThe damp soil was found on the east side of the Porter Biosciences building at the University of Colorado Boulder. The dark brown soil was found in chunks. The temperature was approximately 91 degrees Fahrenheit(33 degrees Celsius).
Naming NotesRalphie is the University of Colorado Boulder's live mascot and in the spirit of the new Ralphie VI that was anointed this year, we decided to name our phage BabyRalphie. The new Ralphie is a baby buffalo which is why we named it BabyRalphie.
