| Discovery Notes | "I collected soil from Denton, Texas at coordinates 33.2114944°N, 97.1723294°W. It was late afternoon at around 4:50 PM. The temperature when the sample was collect was 96 degrees F and at 34% humidity. I selected this area as the landscaping of the area around my collection site is tough to break and it seemed to be the only location in which soil was accessible. The collection spot is shaded by a metal car canopy and next to a young tree. I also chose the collection spot because the ground in unshaded areas was very dry but the one spot was relatively moist. I broke the top barrier of the topsoil and dug about two inches deep to collect the sample. I placed it in a plastic bag." |
