Discovery NotesThis phage was from my 11th soil sample.

Here are the details:

Date: Tuesday, February 14, 2017
Time: 11:10 AM
Location: Oakland Square Historic District
GPS coordinates: 40.434319, -79.951815
Weather: Sunny; 39°F
Surroundings: Rocks, small plants, leaves
Depth: Surface - 3 inches deep
Soil conditions: Damp, soft, fine
Storage technique: Backpack for ~29.5 hours

The soil had small plants/weeds growing in it. Photos on Google Maps show that flowers are planted there in the summer.
Naming NotesMy mom had a dog named Bosco when she was younger. It popped into my mind and I thought it sounded like a good phage name.
Sequencing Information
Sequencing Complete?No
Genome length (bp)Unknown
Character of genome endsUnknown
Fasta file available?No
Characterization
ClusterUnclustered
Subcluster--
Lysogeny NotesWhen plating from a high-titer lysate, the lawn grows and decreases in intensity as the concentration of phage particles decreases, until there is a cleared plate and finally a webbed plate.

Phage Bosco is confirmed to be a temperate phage through lysogen testing and can form stable lysogens.
