Discovery NotesSoil was located in a mix of very wet and moist dirt. Soil was soft to touch and dark brown. Very easy to break apart. About a handful was collected in a plastic bag and kept in lab.
Naming NotesThe phage name is CarverA. The name came from the fact that the phage was found in the soil by Carver Hall on North Carolina A&T campus. The “A” at the end represents the initial of the founder's first name, which correlates to this being the first phage found and explored within the lab by founder.
