From enriched soil sample?Yes
Isolation TemperatureNot entered
GPS Coordinates38.384844 N, 85.364302 E Map
Discovery NotesThe soil sample was selected 0.5-2.0 cm below the surface. The sample was taken in a shaded, wooded area near the base of a white pine.
Sequencing Information
Sequencing Complete?No
Genome length (bp)Unknown
Character of genome endsUnknown
Fasta file available?No
Characterization
ClusterUnclustered
Subcluster--
Lysogeny NotesDeshpanda grows within 24 hour when incubated at 37 degrees Celsius. Because of the early appearance of a clear center as well as the completely clear plaque after two days, I believe Deshpanda is a lytic phage.
Annotating InstitutionUnknown or unassigned
Annotation StatusNot sequenced
Plaque NotesThe plaque of this phage is typically has a clear center along with a turbid ring. The size of the plaques are generally 0.7 cm in diameter when including the turbid areas. The inner, clear circle typically measures 0.2 cm. Long term incubation of Deshpanda in a cold environment and incubation at 37 degrees Celsius for more than two results in a completely clear plaque.
