Discovery NotesPhage was discovered from a soil and grass sample. The phage was discovered on Gonzaga University campus near the science building. Not only did the sample contain grass but also the roots of the grass which were connected to the soil.
Naming NotesWe wanted to choose a name that started with a P so that we would have some nice alliteration when saying that it was a phage. Phil and Phillip were both taken so we decided on the name DrPhil.
