Discovery NotesI found my phage in Hahn Garden, Blacksburg VA in the middle of the circular bed. I dug down about 4 cm to get the soil sample. The soil was damp, not saturated. It was reddish-brown in appearance and was intermingled with roots of the grass.
Naming NotesI lost my phage several times when doing dilution plates. I also had a hard time getting the gel electrophoresis of my DNA to actually show bands. Even though I saw my phage under electron microscope, it was as if it was never there.
