Discovery NotesThe soil from which the phage originated from belonged to a flower pot that contained a pepper plant. The flower pot was watered every two days. Thus the soil seemed fertile and moist. The flower pot is in close proximity to the street but is along the side of a building.
Naming NotesThe name of this phage is Farharhar. It is a play on my name, Farihah. I spent an immense amount of time observing the phage so I have become attached to it. Thus I wanted to name it after myself, but give it a twist. The phage is hardy and formidable so the "harhar" part seemed fitting.

Plaque NotesThe phage is a temperate phage. It forms turbid plaques. However, the plaques are not clear bulls-eyes, as are indicative of temperate phages. The phage produces larger plaques where there is a large concentration of phage and smaller plaques where there is a small concentration of phage. The average size of a plaque is 2 mm in diameter.
