Discovery NotesThe soil sample from which this phage was collected was dark, dense, and moist. It was collected with a radius of about 3 inches with a depth of around half an inch under the soil surrounding a palm tree. Dead leaves, grass, and pillbugs surrounded the sample area, some of which were contained within the sample as well.
Naming NotesThe phage name Grindset is a combination of two words that embody the difficult and painstaking journey through my first year in university: "grind" and "mindset". Often a word used to describe the motives of a sigma male, this name was an apt descriptor for my mentality throughout my first year.
