Discovery NotesThe soil was collected from a the edge of a plot of grass lying behind the west wing of Sutherland Hall on the University of Pittsburgh's campus. The site is located at the bottom of hill. Above the hill lies a parking lot, and a second parking lot lies directly next to the collection site as well. To the right of the site there lies a drainage sewer. Nearby vegetation is limited, with only some spotty grass and a couple of trees nearby. At the time of collection, about 9:38pm on 9-4-2018, the weather was clear, with a temperature of 85 degrees Fahrenheit and a humidity of 83%. The soil itself is dry and crumbly, with lots of dead leaves and sticks lying on top of it. It appears a light tan color.
