Discovery NotesPhage was discovered on a chilly (20 degrees Fahrenheit) January day (1/19/19) in Boulder, Colorodo. The sample was taken outside Muenzinger Psychology building under a bush in a location with soil that had some light snow coverage.
Naming NotesThe phage is called DoctorStrange because it is one of our favorite Marvel superheroes! We hope that our phage can one day save lives!

Plaque NotesPhage is temperate because it had a clear center and turbid ring around the plaque. From the electron microscopy it can be determine that the morphotype of the phage is siphoviridae because of its large head relative to the non contractile tail. Average head size was 60 nm and the average tail size was 170 nm.
