Discovery NotesThe sample was collected on August 28th, 2022 from a depth of 2 inches. The temperature of the area was around 92°F (33.3°C). The soil was located in a dry, shaded area next to bushes. The soil was a mix of clumpy and powdery. It contained twigs. Insects were observed crawling in and out of the soil.
Naming NotesThe phage’s name, Hikari, means "light". The plaques produced by Hikari are turbid and have to be held up to a light in order to be seen most of the time.
