Discovery NotesPhage was isolated from a soil sample collected outside the Fresh Food Cafe of Johns Hopkins University. Soil was damp and easy to dig up due to recent rain. Soil collected was under bark, and near trees and bushes. Two samples, from the same location/spot were collected - "A" and "B". This phage is from Sample A. Soil from Sample A contained the presence of thin, wispy white worms.
Naming NotesNamed after "Hopkins Memes for My Lost Hopes and Dreams", a group dedicated to memes about investigator's institution. Name was chosen as memes shared within this group were "spicy", ie, sharp, much like the morphology of the phages' plaques.
