Discovery NotesWe collected our environmental sample from enriched soil on January 16, 2014. The soil we wanted to collect our sample from was frozen on top, so we dug down a little into the moist soil with a plastic spoon. This soil that we gathered came from underneath a bench outside between Herak and Hughes on Gonzaga University campus. The soil we got our sample from can be characterized as cold, moist, soft, and dark brown. The weather on the day we collected our environmental sample was overcast with misty rain, and the temperature was 28 degrees Fahrenheit (-2 degrees Celsius).
Naming NotesWe named our phage Hughbert.
