Discovery NotesThe sample was collected from a dirt patch in a grassy field off the path by Jundt Art Muesum and the lake. There was snow on the ground that we had to clear. We took our sample from about 4 inches under the surface.
Naming NotesAs students at Gonzaga University, we decided to name our phage after basketball player Killian Tillie. We also decided it was a fun play on words since the bacteriophage kills the bacteria.
