Discovery NotesThe sample was taken from near a family garden below a live tree with molting bark, near an exposed part of the root. Near the root was foliage and healthy flora. The soil sample had many small rocks and small sediments.
Naming NotesThe meaning of the name comes from the irony that the dirt that we took the sample from is known for being hard to grow most types of vegetation, due to it's high concentration of clay. Also, the fact that it is from California.
