Discovery NotesOn Tuesday September 28, 2021, at 10:45am PST, a soil sample was obtained in a growth bay in the biology lab building at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. A 1-inch length by 1-inch width by 1-inch height was created with a small shovel and about 15mL of soil was obtained. The weather was sunny with clear skies and the temperature was 90°F. The humidity was 10%, the wind speed was 2mph, and there was no precipitation.
Naming NotesI named the bacteriophage "Makarov" because Makarov is an infamous antagonist from a popular first-person-shooter game (Call of Duty) that I used to play everyday when I was young.
