Discovery NotesThe soil sample used was collected on 9/3/20 in Evansville, IN right outside of Morton Residence Hall near bushes of flowers on the campus of the University of Evansville. The soil was wet, full of organic matter, and found 1-2 inches below the surface of the soil.
Naming NotesThe name of this phage was chosen after the two people who found it and worked with it, both named Makayla. We chose the add the number 24 the phage name because we will both graduate from college from 2024.
