From enriched soil sample?Yes
Isolation Temperature24°C
GPS Coordinates39.1933 N, 96.5837 W Map
Discovery NotesSoil sample was from the surface of a muddy, active flowerbed in direct sunlight. Little sand with small bits of decomposing mulch present.
Naming NotesA friend of mine calls people "nerd" as a friendly joke, and one day I taught him how to write in Katakana script for Japanese. He attempted to spell "nerd" but what he created, Nerudzu, had no meaning at all and was untraceable back to being what he was trying for. The gibberish he made became an inside joke that we laugh about from time to time.
Sequencing Information
Sequencing Complete?No
Genome length (bp)Unknown
Character of genome endsUnknown
Fasta file available?No
Characterization
ClusterUnclustered
Subcluster--
Lysogeny NotesNo growth on patch assay. After rounds of isolation, the isolated phage appeared small without the presence of mesas, proving to be different that the phage observed upon discovery in the spot test.
Annotating InstitutionUnknown or unassigned
Annotation StatusNot sequenced
Plaque NotesSpot test from an enriched sample, each spot was a bulls-eye. A spot was visibly cleared, but the center had grown back bacteria in a mesa, leaving only a clear ring to be observed.
