Discovery NotesMicrocomedones from Josh Chiou’s nose (washed face, no antibiotics used, normal skin) were extracted using a Biore Pore Strip on October 4th, 2013, and the sample was enriched in RCM media with P. acnes strain ATCC 6919 under anaerobic conditions at 37 oC.

Phage Ouroboros was isolated, characterized and annotated by Team Hannibal Vector (Payton Smithers, Natalie Liu, Jay Gong, Victoria Chen). TA: Samantha Capati. Instructor: Dr. Jordan Moberg Parker. Laboratory Support: Dr. Krisanavane Reddi.

Assembly performed by Will Villella (UCLA) and confirmed by Charles Bowman (University of Pittsburgh). Quality control of annotation results performed by Jordan Moberg Parker and Dallas Mould (UCLA).
