Discovery NotesI collected the soil from underneath a tree on the University of Southern Mississippi’s campus. Because it was under the tree, it was in the shade. There was a lot of bushes and plants surrounding it as well. I picked up the soil from the top of the ground. I collected the soil on September 8th around 2:00 p.m. It was a sunny day that day. The soil was moist and dark in color.
Naming NotesMy phage name is based off of Peeta Mellark from The Hunger Games series. In the story he was the son of a baker, so bread also relates to him. This character is very strong and brave. My phage stayed strong throughout the whole process, so it seems like a good fit.
