Discovery NotesCollected at 9:30 a.m. on August 11, 2020 the morning after a thunderstorm. Air temperature was 22.22 degrees Celsius with 93% humidity. Collected in a home garden about 6 cm below surface of dirt and mulch which was placed in the garden 4 months prior to sample collection. Collected under a medium sized tree where soil is primarily submerged by shade. After collection, soil was packed, dark brown, and moist. There were 3 small rocks in the sample, and the soil was full of organic matter including small, decaying roots.
Naming NotesNamed after my mom who helped me obtain my environmental soil sample from our home garden. I was too scared to go into the back of our garden where snakes occasionally hide, so she dug out the soil for me because she is much stronger and braver than me.
