Discovery NotesSoil sample was collected from a compost pile. Soil appeared moist, dense, dark brown. Sample was collected ~8cm from the top of the pile.
Naming NotesShadfly is the second phage I discovered and its plaques and restriction digest appear to be very similar to my first phage, HalLo, and therefore appears to be "shadowing" it. Since the name Shadow was already taken, I chose the name Shadfly as this was the nickname of my dog whose name was Shadow.
