Discovery NotesOn August 27, 2017, we collected the dirt in hopes of finding a phage. The soil was dark and moist. The dirt was found at Ouachita Baptist University's "Tiger" statue. We first performed a spot test on 8/31/17 and picked our plaque on 9/7/17.
Naming NotesWe chose this name because it was found by our statue of a tiger on campus. Shere Khan is the tiger in the Jungle Book's name, and we thought it was clever.
