Discovery NotesSirMartin was collected from the soil behind the Grotto at St. Aloysius Church on Gonzaga University's campus in Spokane Washington. It was collected on January 15, 2019. The soil sample was from about 2 inches into the ground and the soil was very dark, brown, and damp.
Naming NotesSirMartin was named in the honor of the phenomenal egg chef at the Cog. Each Sunday Martin provides all students with ample sustenance in the form of omelettes and fried eggs. He is a truly exceptional human and cook, and therefore he should be honored with a phage in his namesake.
