Discovery NotesSoil was dry and had small pebbles and sticks. It was mostly a dirt/chalky dirt consistency and barely had any moisture. The sample was collected at a dog park in a 3 foot wide dirt patch near a small baby tree. The dog park is near a busy street and there were lots of people and dogs around the park.

10 mM MgCl2 added during isolation.

Naming NotesOur soil sample was collected at Westwood Dog Park, where Glania’s roommate’s puppy, Winston Stone, loves to go. Glania named the phage after Winston Stone, hence Stoney.
