Discovery NotesIsolated from an outdoor commercial algal pond (Lihue, HI, USA).
Pond water was 50X concentrated using a Vivaflow 50R cartidge, and spot tested on bacterial lawn of M. chocolatum strain GAI20246-6 which was previously isolated from the same pond.
Virulent phage lyses liquid host culture overnight at 30C with shaking (200rpm)
